Reduction DryBlocs are ultralight waterproof roll closure bulk reducing sacks that are ideally shaped for easy and efficient packing. This issue THE SPROUT goes to Granite Gear for its creative and environmentally sensitive approach to packaging. For example, the Air Line Cordura stuffsacks are containers for packaging your peanut butter, ground coffee or salsa on a wall trip. Granite Gear uses only recyclable petroleum-free packaging for the rest of its line. After finding that the glue used to hold together other packages and displays was toxic and left as sludge in the recycling process, the company eliminated glue altogether and designed origami-style packages that fold together, are more efficiently stacked and freighted, and conserve fuel. The AirVent DryBloc Solid is the lightest waterproof compression sack on the market. Air means it’s ultralight, made with 30D hybrid sil-nylon CORDURA™. Vent means it purges air through the eVent bottom. Dry means it’s factory seam sealed with a roll-top closure. Bloc means it nests inside your pack well. Solid means it’s durable, and also that you can compress your gear down to a nearly rocksolid state. It is also equipped with our LineLoc technology compression system.
